So much has happened since this session. It’s hard to believe it was only a few weeks ago that I met up with my lovely sister-in-law and her fiancee Derek here in Squamish for their maternity session.
I’m not going to flood this blogpost about the Corona virus, but it’s worth mentioning it, if only briefly, because it wasn’t a concern for any of us when this session took place. It is also worth mentioning that this beautiful couple battled infertility to get here, and never lost faith that their little one was going to join their family.
When I met Sawyer many years ago, I had no idea what a force she was. My husband told me stories about her when she was little, running around the house, embarrassing him in front of his friends (ummm that’s what younger siblings are for!) It has been almost ten years since I first heard these stories, and she’s accomplished so many things, and is living her life to the fullest.
My heart goes out to all of the families waiting on their little ones to join their family during this tough time. Things will resolve, we will be gathering together to celebrate birthdays, weddings, and births, but in the meantime, reach out to your friends and family that are experiencing life changes during this pandemic.
This babe is already so, so loved, and will have the best parents (and Aunties and Uncles of course!)
We can’t wait to meet you, little one – just as soon as the world will let us.
